Why Silencing A Dissenting Opinion Is A Bad Idea

From John Stuart Mill:

  1. Who has been silenced?

  2. Well, Anonymous, I would say this applies generally. The truth has nothing to fear from dissenting opinion, right? However, more topically, I would suggest that this applies to the pending excommunication of John Dehlin.

He's going to keep talking of course, but no longer as a member of the tribe, but as an outcast.
